Delhi govt extends Covid-19 quarantine norms for UK passengers till Jan 31

In view of the new strain of coronavirus in the United Kingdom, the Delhi government on Thursday extended guidelines for passengers coming from the UK to the national capital. To contain the increased transmissibility of new variant, it has been decided that aforesaid DDMA (District Disaster Management Authority) order dated January 8 may be further extended till January 31, Vijay Kumar Dev Chief Secretary of Delhi said in a letter. The guidelines, which were valid till January 14, have now been extended till January 31. According to the Standard operating procedure (SOP), all incoming passengers have to get themselves tested through the RT-PCR (Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) method on arrival at the airport. The cost of the test will also be borne by the passengers, the letter reads.

The exercise is being initiated by the District Disaster Management Authority. A meeting convened at the Petronet LNG conference has finalised a plan of action for the mock drill. A control room will be set up at the district collectorate; an onsite control room will be at the LNG terminal; a middle level control room will be set up in Elamkunnappuzha panchayat, the statement said. The drill will start with the emergency message reaching the district control room at 11 a.m. on January 20.

Guidelines have been notified for Covid-19 containment in view of new cases. DC Srinagar chairs meeting Chairman District Health Society and DDMA chaired meeting to finalise arrangements to be put in place as per Ministry of Health and Family Welfare guidelines issued on 1st January 2021. Addl Commissioner, Kashmir Dr Srikant Suse, Addl Deputy Commissioners Dr Syed Hanief Balkhi, Syed Khursheed Ahmed and Harvinder Singh, Divisional Nodal officer Dr Talat, HoD SPM Dr Saleem Khan, CMO Dr Jahangir Bakhshi, Epidemiologist Dr Tasadunq Shafi and other officers attended the meeting.
