KUALA LUMPUR: Students in boarding schools and Vocational College (KV) hostels under the Education Ministry in Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) areas are not allowed to return home for Hari Raya Aidilfitri. According to the National Security Council (MKN), the EMCO standard operating procedure (SOP) for the education sector also stipulates that no individuals from schools and KVs are allowed to exit or enter the affected areas. “No guests or visitors are allowed to enter during the EMCO period. All physical and co-curricular school activities are suspended during the EMCO,“ according to the education sector SOP shared by the MKN on its official Telegram website.

Maharashtra begins inspection of Covid hospitals April 29, 2021 The Maharashtra government has commenced the State-wide inspection of electrical systems and lifts installed in public and private Covid hospitals to prevent fires due to short circuits and faulty electrical set-up, said a press statement issued by the Energy Department on Thursday. Following a series of fires at Covid hospitals, State Energy Minister, Nitin Raut, has ordered electrical safety and technical inspection audit. SANDAKAN (Bernama): At least 100 Bornean bearded pigs in Sabah s forest reserves have been found dead so far, suspected to be from African Swine Fever (ASF), says Sabah Wildlife Department (SWD) director Augustine Tuuga. Since the discovery of 14 dead wild boar carcasses in Kinabatangan between December 2020 and January 2021, the SWD has been finding at least one dead carcass a day. The Sabah Veterinary Services Department couldn t find signs of the virus in the dead wild boar (in Kinabatangan) at first, but has now confirmed that they died from it.
