Pandurang: The Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole today said that a robust mechanism is in place to deal with any kind of situation that may arise due to 2nd wave of Covid-19 in Kashmir division.
The Div Com said this during his visit to Kulgam where he took stock of Covid containment measures and made on spot and detailed inspection of various medical and healthcare facilities associated with Covid management in the district.
Accompanying the Div Com were, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad SSP Kulgam, Gurinder Paul Singh, Divisional Nodal officer for COVID, Dr. Waseem, ACR, CMO, Medical Superintendent and other concerned Officers.

Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization Of Children Held Across Kashmir
At Anantnag, Deputy Commissioner, Anshul Garg inaugurated Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) Programme, 2021 at Maternity & Childcare Hospital Anantnag. The DC started the campaign by administering oral anti-polio vaccine drops to the newborn infants in presence of CMO and Superintendent M & CCH Anantnag.
CMO Anantnag, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad on the occasion informed the DC that 146152 children will be administered pulse polio drops in the district. He added that 650 pulse polio booths have been setup in the district, besides, 14 transit booths have also been established for the effective and successful implementation of the programme.
PDD Daily Wager Electrocuted, Referred to SMHS
SRINAGAR: A daily wager of Power Development Department (PDD) was injured due to electrocution in Damhal Hanjipora area of Kulgam district on Saturday afternoon.
The PDD daily wager has been identified as Manzoor Ahmad Dar, son of Gull Mohammad Dar of Damhal Hanjipora. According to a local news agency, KNO, he received an electric shock when he came in contact with a live wire in Nandmarg locality while repairing a transform, resulting in injuries to him.
Dar was immediately taken to District Hospital Kulgam where doctors referred him to SMHS Srinagar in serious conditions.
