DDC Chairperson Poonch reviews developmental scenario in Mandi

POONCH, July 11: Chairperson, District Development Council, Poonch, Tazeem Akhter today reviewed the developmental scenario and achievements of the different departments of Tehsil Mandi, at a meeting held in Dak Bunglow Loran.
Block Development Council Chairperson Sathra, BDC Chairperson Loran, DDC Member Mandi, DDC Member Loran & ADDC and all District, Sectoral and Tehsil Officers attended the meeting.
The members raised different issues of public importance. Responding to the demands, suitable directions were passed by the chairperson to the concerned department.

At the inaugural function, the DDC said that the Administration is focused on developing sports infrastructure across the district in order to channelise the energy of youth towards sports activities.
Present on the occasion were ACD, Mohammad Imran Khan, ACR, Mir Imitiyaz-ul-Aziz, BDO, Tehsildar, and other officers.
Besides PRI members and a good number of people from the area were also present on the occasion.
Later, the DDC inaugurated a Cricket League and interacted with the players who extended their gratitude to the administration for developing a playfield in the village.

In this regard, Union Additional Secretary convened a meeting with District Development Council Chairman, Mohammad Yousuf Gorsi, District Development Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla, Director, Rural Sanitation, Tariq Ahmad Ganie, Block Development Council Chairpersons, Assistant Commissioner Development, Ideel Saleem, Block Development Officers and other concerned officers.
Additional Secretary took stock of various aspects of SBM and its allied components wherein he was briefed about its current status. He stressed for mobilizing all available resources effectively so that desired results are achieved. He emphasized on making efforts for plastic free rural India, grey water conservation besides proper rural sanitation and solid and liquid waste management.

While elaborating the importance of the Survey, the DDC said it would be helpful to roll out targeted measures like better healthcare and education, convenience in movement, enrollment in beneficiary oriented schemes besides providing livestock and other income generating units for the Nomads/Migratory population for their overall socioeconomic upliftment and welfare.
Dr. Singla informed that these teams shall visit the highland pastures/bahaks/dhokas and the necessary logistic support has been provided to the team members.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Bashir Ahmad, who is the Nodal Officer for the exercise said that necessary training have been imparted to the concerned officials in this regard.
