GOOD MORNING, MASSACHUSETTS. Happy Cinco de Mayo.
MASSGOP HAS GEORGIA ON ITS MIND What better way to recruit new members to the Massachusetts GOP than by bringing in a nationally known Democrat-turned-Republican for a fundraiser?
What happened to Mikayla Miller?
The event is sponsored by Violence in Boston, a Boston organization that works with victims of crimes. It termed Miller’s death a “mystery” and said the rally is to “demand answers from District Attorney Marian Ryan.”
Violence in Boston did not reply to emails seeking comment.
Ryan, in a statement released on Sunday, said her office and the Massachusetts State Police are continuing to investigate Miller’s death.
“The death of Mikayla Miller is a tragedy and an unimaginable loss for her family and the entire community,” the district attorney said. “We know that everyone mourning her is seeking answers. Our investigation into the events of April 17-18, 2021, remains open. While we await a ruling from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, we will continue gathering information and interviewing witnesses. As the investigation unfolds, we will be in contact with Mikayla’s family and their representatives.”
Candlelight vigil and rally to be held for Mikayla Miller in Hopkinton
HOPKINTON Family members and friends of a local teen found dead last month are set to gather Thursday at the Boston Marathon starting line to hold a rally in an effort to get what they say is the truth about how she died.
Mikayla Miller, 16, of Hopkinton, was found dead about 7:45 a.m. on April 18. It is not clear whether she died earlier that day or the day before.
On April 19, the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office confirmed it was investigating Miller’s death, but that it is not considered suspicious.

The prosecutor leading the investigation into the death of a 16-year-old girl from Hopkinton, Massachusetts, explained on Tuesday what her office knows so far about the case and promised a full investigation with transparency for the public.
Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan also acknowledged unsubstantiated rumors swirling in the community that Mikayla Miller, who was Black, was murdered and that race may have played a part. Ryan said it was too soon to say what caused Mikayla s death in mid-April, which the local medical examiner is looking into, and added that there is no evidence either way that race was involved in it.

HOPKINTON, MA Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan offered new details about the April death of Hopkinton teenager Mikayla Miller, saying the 16-year-old was involved in a fight with two peers hours before she walked away from her home.
During a news conference Tuesday, Ryan addressed the Black high schooler s death amid growing outcry about the investigation. Some have suggested Miller s death was racially motivated, and that she may have been the victim of a lynching. Ryan stressed the investigation is still ongoing, and couldn t provide details about how Miller died. The most important takeaway should be that no final conclusion has yet been reached, Ryan said. This case will not be closed until we have exhausted all avenues.
