President-Elect of Peru Pedro Castillo and Vice-President-Elect Dina Boluarte received official credentials on Friday, almost seven weeks after national elections. The National Election Jury presented them with the credentials, formally declaring them the winners of the vote. During the ceremony, Castillo, a leftist, said his government would be fundamentally Peruvian rather than using models from other left-wing administrations in the region. We are not Chavistas, we are not communists, we are not extremists and mainly we are not terrorists, he said.
