Tourism industry to help achieve SDGs: Mahbub

MUNSHIGANJ, 21 Jan, 2021 (BSS) – State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Mahbub Ali today that measures have been taken to strengthen the tourism sector as it will reflect the country’s development and help achieve SDGs within the stipulated time.
“We have met the MDGs ahead of schedule, next lie the SDGs…The tourism industry will play a vital role in meeting the targets of this SDG,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at the ‘Padma Cruise’ inauguration ceremony beneath the under-construction Padma Bridge in the middle of the Padma river this afternoon.

State Minister for Civil Aviation Md Mahbub Ali today said that no decision has been taken to suspend air communication with any country.
Air communication with all countries will continue in compliance with health regulations, he said while talking to reporters after inaugurating a rooftop restaurant at Parjatan Bhaban, the headquarters of the Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, in the capital s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
Replying to another question, the state minister said, after the lifting of ban on flight operations by the respective countries due to a new strain of Covid-19 including Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh will immediately resume flights to those countries.
Mahbub for increasing quality of services of BPC for customer contentment

DHAKA, Jan 3, 2021 (BSS) – State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali today said that it was necessary for the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC) to earn trust of consumers through increasing its quality of services.
“BPC is a brand name in customer services and there is no substitute for achieving customer satisfaction by increasing the quality of service in order to survive in the present day competition,”he said.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a function organized on the occasion of inauguration of a rooftop restaurant at Parjatan Bhaban, the head office of BPC in city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.

State Minister for Civil Aviation Md Mahbub Ali yesterday said air communication with all countries will continue in compliance with health regulations, as no decision was taken yet to suspend air communication with any country.
The junior minister said this while talking to reporters after inaugurating a rooftop restaurant at the Parjatan Bhaban, the headquarters of the Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, in the capital s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.

Rabeya started her writing career crossing the barriers of patriarchal society and when women were almost confined to their homes.
The novelist died at her Banani residence around 5:00pm after suffering a cardiac arrest, said her family. She is survived by two daughters and two sons and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn her death.
In her career spanning almost six decades, Rabeya had shown her capacities in short stories, essays, religious history, and travelogues. And she became an inspiration for many budding writers, including females.
Rabeya wrote over 50 novels and more than 400 short stories.
She received Ekushey Padak in 1993 and Independence Day Award in 2017, the two most prestigious and highest civilian awards of the Bangladesh government, for her contributions to literature.
