Better Internet access for rural Sabahans with 501 locations to get VSAT set-up, says Hajiji

Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor. -filepic KOTA KINABALU: Sabah is set to get a boost in Internet connectivity with the rollout of Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) systems in 501 locations in the state in phases starting this year. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said this during the launch of the Connect Me Now WiFi project at Kampung Mantus in Pitas on Saturday (April 10), as part of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government s efforts to assist rural folks in getting better Internet access. “The effort to install VSAT systems is part of the short-term solution so that the rural population can access the Internet, especially school-going children, ” he said during the event.
