IIT Roorkee launches a 3-year M Tech Program in VLSI for Industry Professionals

Share Roorkee: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has launched a new program- M. Tech. in Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) for Industry Professionals. It is an initiative of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and will commence online from the academic session 2021- 2022. It also comprises a Contact Program with faculty in Greater Noida Campus of IIT Roorkee in each semester. The contact program will also have access to labs with EDA and TCAD tools that the students can use.   “Microelectronics and VLSI industry is driving the digital revolution by providing the required resources. It employs a large number of trained engineers. Many of them aspire for higher education but are unable to pursue it full time. ISRO top brass pushed Sivan junior s recruitment: Plaint

Express News Service BENGALURU: The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has registered a complaint against Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman and Secretary, Department of Space (DoS), Dr K Sivan, over allegations of irregularities in recruiting his son in ISRO’s Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC) in Valiamala, Thiruvananthapuram, by bypassing norms. The complaint “171623/2021/vigilance-6”, dated January 25, 2021 names LPSC Director Dr V Narayanan, and alleges that the recruitment of Dr Sivan’s son Sidharth S was not just a matter of conflict of interest, but a case of “favouritism and conspiracy to benefit the Secretary DoS and Chairman ISRO (Sivan) and his son”.

The CVC subsequently registered the complaint, setting into motion a preliminary process, according to media reports. The complaint alleges Sidharth’s recruitment was not just a case of conflict of interest, but also a case of “favouritism and conspiracy to benefit the secretary DoS and Chairman ISRO (Sivan) and his son”. The complainant has named LPSC director Dr V Narayanan who allegedly showed haste in the appointment anticipating a transfer to Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre.
