Beginning Monday, March 15, most Missouri Job Centers will transition from appointment-only visits to a full re-opening, with walk-ins welcome.
The new policy only applies to Job Centers that meet three main criteria for re-opening. Centers must be located in counties where COVID-19 positivity rates are below 8.5 percent, they must have adequate staffing to provide services, and must be able to meet the Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development’s internal Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response Plan guidelines.
Decisions on whether Job Centers meet the re-opening requirements will be made on a case-by-case basis. Decisions will be made Monday of each week and announced to impacted Job Center staff with a notice of one week prior to status change from “Appointment Only” to “Open.”
The fair is scheduled to feature job openings exclusively from manufacturing companies across the Missouri.
The Return Strong Virtual Job Fairs are part of the state’s efforts to help Missourians skill up and get back to work following the economic downturn caused by layoffs from the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the fair, job seekers statewide will be able to search job listings; meet with hiring organizations; receive tips for resume writing and job interviews; and learn more about Missouri Job Center services and training opportunities.
In total, 10 virtual job fairs were scheduled for spring 2021, with several still upcoming. Some fairs will target job seekers and employers from specific industries. Fairs will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays on:
