Joyner thanked Lamar for his three decades of service to the district as both an AUSA and USA. He pledged to continue the office s mission until President Joe Biden s new appointee is confirmed.

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - A last-minute opinion by Mississippiâs attorney general could affect whether some candidates stay on the ballot in this yearâs municipal elections, and some legal experts are concerned it could cause mistrust in the stateâs electoral process.
âYou canât defend the timing, no matter what the circumstances,â said Mississippi Democratic Party Chairman Tyree Irving, citing an opinion from AG Lynn Fitch that changed candidate qualifications four days before the stateâs qualifying deadline.
