As the COVID-19 vaccine rollout continues, several U.S. states have expanded their eligibility criteria in recent weeks, offering shots to people aged 16 and older.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for people aged 16 and older, while the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson drugs are recommended for those 18 and over.
More than 168.5 million doses have been administered and more than 63 million people have been fully vaccinated, according to the latest CDC report.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Hattiesburg is doing its part in helping families in its community get vaccinated.
The church is partnering with the NAACP and the Mississippi State Department of Health to get the resources it needs to get the job done.
Senior Pastor D. Franklin Brown shares the steps they are taking to get people in line for the shots.
“We will scan the neighborhood, get people to sign up,” Brown said. “Also, we’re asking them which type of vaccine they would prefer, either Pfizer, the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson.”

PINE BELT, Miss. (WDAM) - The Mississippi State Department of Health reports the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state has risen to 306,600.
MSDH reported 270 COVID-19 cases and four additional deaths on Wednesday, bringing the state total to 306,611 cases and 7,077 deaths.
Positive test results may have been made during the past several days and represent individuals who became ill a week ago or more.
