(WTVA) - The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) has been called in to investigate an officer-involved shooting in Lowndes County. Sheriff Eddie Hawkins said deputies responded shortly after 1 p.m. to a disturbance on Granderson Drive, which is just south of the Columbus city limits. As deputies arrived, the incident evolved into a shooting, the sheriff said. No one was hit, but the unnamed suspect did receive injuries during an incident prior to deputies arriving. The sheriff did not elaborate on the prior incident.
