The Michigan Wheat Program’s Wheat Wisdom Webinar series will feature Phil Needham of Needham Ag Technologies in Calhoun, Ky., on Feb. 24. The weekly programs occur via Zoom and Facebook, beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesdays and run about 90 minutes.
Needham, who grew up on a family farm in eastern England, will present Fall Wheat Management and Combine Residue Management.
Needham graduated from Lincolnshire College of Agriculture and then Cranfield University with a four-year agricultural technology degree. He moved to the U.S. in 1989 to expand a European crop management program that’s credited with doubling Kentucky wheat yields over 20 years.

MARKET GRAIN: A new workshop series will provide an overview of pricing tools available to producers, including cash sales, forward contracts, hedging, options and minimum price contracts. Three sessions will take place on Tuesday nights, starting Feb. 23.

The Corn Marketing Program of Michigan, Michigan Soybean Committee and Michigan Wheat Program are offering an online workshop series covering the basics of grain marketing. The workshop includes three sessions, which will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday nights.
