LANSING, Mich., May 18, 2021 /PRNewswire/ The Michigan Chamber of Commerce issued a statement today calling on Governor Whitmer to stop the ongoing regulatory fiasco at MIOSHA (Michigan Occupational Safety & Health Administration)

Late last week the Governor announced the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) would align its mask requirements with the new Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines allowing vaccinated individuals to go mask-free in most indoor and outdoor settings, including private places of business. Federal OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) rules have been updated to reflect the new CDC guidance as well.

Saturday s Cases
On Saturday, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported 1,289 daily cases of COVID-19 and 107 deaths. Of those deaths, 91 were identified during a Vital Records review.
The case total in the state now stands at 874,624 and 18,607 people have died from the virus.
Whitmer lifts mask requirement for fully vaccinated in Michigan
Michiganders who are fully vaccinated will no longer be required to wear a mask.

Friday, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has updated the department s mask order to align with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) latest guidance.

LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Health Human Services announced on Friday that, starting Saturday at 9 a.m., those who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are no longer required to masks indoors.
However, the CDC advises that people still wear masks in places such as hospitals, public transport or on airplanes.
