PONTIAC, Mich. – Oakland County announced on Wednesday that it has received 7,400 doses of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.
Officials said it’s 700 more doses than the county expected to receive.
“With the news that Merck is going to be joining with Johnson & Johnson to manufacture this one dose vaccine, this increased supply of vaccine will help accelerate the end to the pandemic,” said Oakland County Executive Dave Coulter. “We are making steady progress in vaccinating Oakland County residents with nearly one in five having received their first dose.”
Governor Gretchen Whitmer said Tuesday that more COVID-19 restrictions can be relaxed. Restaurants will be allowed to accept twice as many indoor diners,
MDHHS launches PFAS health study

LANSING, Mich. â The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is urging West Michigan residents to sign up for the stateâs PFAS Exposure and Health Study to help ensure robust data gathering and to make the study as successful as possible.
The study was launched in November with the goal of learning more about the relationship between PFAS and health among residents who have been exposed to various levels of PFAS in their drinking water, a news release said Wednesday.
People who enroll in the study complete a blood sample appointment at one of two local study offices: one near the City of Parchment and Cooper Township in Kalamazoo County and one in the Belmont and Rockford area of Kent County.

LANSING – Former Michigan Department of Public Health and Human Services director Robert Gordon will receive more than $155,000 as part of a separation agreement, published reports revealed Monday.
