ESCANABA As of Friday, the U.P. had 13,744 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 2,933 probable cases, 297 deaths and 62 probable deaths linked to the disease, according to state officials.
The figure does not include prisoners in the Michigan Department of Corrections.
According to the state’s county-by-county count issued Friday, Delta County had a total of 2,435 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 388 probable cases, 56 deaths and 15 probable deaths; Menominee County had 1,360 confirmed cases, 182 probable cases, and 22 deaths; and Schoolcraft County had 194 confirmed cases, 17 probable cases, three deaths and one probable death.
The LMAS District Health Department has reported as of Thursday, in Luce County had 147 recovered cases, Mackinac had 240 recovered cases, Alger County had 193 cases and in Schoolcraft there were 158 recovered cases.

Moore, a Detroit resident, is charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct in an assault that occurred at about 12:30 p.m. on June 30, 2019.

The assault took place in the 11000 block of Wayne Road.
Police have a clear shot of Moore on video surveillance inside the womanâs apartment complex.
After the assault was reported, police circulated Mooreâs picture on social media and it was shared on numerous Downriver websites in an effort to locate him.
The exposure helped police put a name to the suspect and he was arrested by a fugitive apprehension team at his house, police said.

BAY CITY, MI A Mount Pleasant sex offender is facing three federal charges after allegedly sending a sex-slave contract to what he thought was a 13-year-old girl.
Christapher Ray Miller, 48, on Dec. 10 had his initial court appearance before U.S. District Judge Mark A. Goldsmith. The judge informed Miller he has been charged with single counts of possessing child pornography, distribution of child pornography, and attempted enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity.
In support of the charges is an affidavit authored by an FBI special agent stating that law enforcement began investigating Miller in November when a witness provided information to the FBI Sacramento Field Office regarding the transfer of child porn. The witness is described as a foreign national who poses as a 13-year-old girl on the internet and has been used by the FBI in the
