Parolee, woman charged in double shooting at Redford mobile home park

A parolee and a woman have been charged in connection with a double shooting at a Redford Township mobile home parkThursday, officials said.
Officials released few details about the Thursday shooting, which happened at the Warwick Village Mobile Home Park in the 24000 block of Joy Road.
Maurice Ali Crisp, 40, of Redford Township, was charged Monday in 17th District Court with first-degree murder, felony firearm, assault with intent to murder, two counts of felony firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm possession, and being a habitual offender, fourth offense, police said Tuesday.

SAGINAW, MI Speaking slowly and fighting tears, a Saginaw mother told the man who killed her pregnant daughter that she forgives him, saying holding on to hate only continues an epidemic of violence.
Helping put resentment aside, the grieving mother said, was hearing her deceased daughter’s voice encouraging her to move on.
“I’m not gonna hate,” said Tamara Tucker, mother of MoeNeisha M. Simmons-Ross. “I don’t have room in my heart to hate. If we hate, then we will never get to a solution of love.”

Michigan adds 2,230 cases, 20 deaths from COVID-19
Michigan added 2,230 coronavirus cases and 20 deaths from COVID-19 on Monday, including cases from Sunday.
The latest figures bring Michigan s total number of cases to 869,854 and deaths to 18,627 since the virus was first detected in March 2020, according to the state Department of Health and Human Services.
Last week, Michigan added 11,991 new cases and 402 deaths, as caseloads fell for the fourth week in a row.
During the previous week of May 2 through May 8 the state added 18,248 new cases and 464 deaths from the virus. During the week of April 25 through May 1, the state added 25,065 cases and 454 deaths.
