DTMB DTMB receives four public relations awards for campaigns and tactics in 2021 PACE Awards Program The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB) recently received four PACE Awards, including a coveted People s Choice Award, during a virtual awards ceremony from the Central Michigan Public Relations Society of America (CMPRSA). The PACE Awards are mid-Michigan s highest honor of public relations activities and are awarded annually to practitioners who, in the judgment of their (out-of-state) peers, have successfully addressed a contemporary issue with exemplary professional skill, creativity, and resourcefulness. DTMB was honored to be recognized in CMPRSA s 2021 PACE Award program, stated, Caleb Buhs, communications director with DTMB. This recognition, including a People s Choice Award, highlights the important work and impact government communications can have in the lives of its employees and all Michiganders.

DTMB Michigan regional unemployment rates mostly down in April FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE LANSING, Mich.  Not seasonally adjusted unemployment rates decreased in 15 of Michigan s 17 major labor market areas during April, according to data released today from the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget. Jobless rates in Michigan regions have dropped very sharply since April 2020, which was the peak of COVID-19 pandemic layoffs, said Wayne Rourke, associate director of the Bureau of Labor Market Information and Strategic Initiatives. Despite these improvements, jobless rates still remain above April 2019 levels. Regional unemployment rate decreases ranged from 0.3 to 0.9 percentage points, with a median rate cut of 0.6 percentage points. Both the Northeast and Northwest Lower Michigan regions exhibited the largest jobless rate drops of 0.9 percentage points.
