Michigan man dies after getting trapped while trimming downed tree Corey Murray The MSP did not immediately identify the man. A news release indicated troopers were dispatched with emergency medical personnel around 6:50 p.m. Monday to an address in the 7000 block of Sterling Road where they found the man trapped under a tree trunk deceased. An investigation into the incident revealed that a large tree had blown over recently and the man had been using a chainsaw to cut the tree into sections. At one point while he was cutting the trunk of the tree it rotated back towards him, knocking him down and trapping him underneath causing fatal injuries.
