Michigan State Police investigating incident of purse stolen from vehicle By: Maura Johnson
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. – Michigan State Police troopers are investigating a larceny from a motor vehicle that happened at 5 p.m. Wednesday evening.
The victim of the theft was mowing a field on Nottawa Road near Wasepi Road in St. Joseph County and had her vehicle parked at the edge of the field while she was working.
Her 13- and 11-year-old sons were inside the vehicle.
The suspect stopped his vehicle on Nottawa Road and approached the two children in the vehicle. He scared the children, who then got out of the vehicle to alert their mother.

The larceny happened in the 24000 block of Clark Road in Mendon Township.
State Police are warning the public that catalytic converter thefts are on the rise.

MARSHALL, Mich. â Michigan State Police are telling people to report suspicious activity as thefts of catalytic converters are on the rise in West Michigan.
Police say a catalytic converter, a stereo, and saws were stolen from a vehicle parked at Columbia Avenue and I-94 in Battle Creek between February 18 and February 22, 2021.
