LANSING - Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) Director Liesl Clark today blasted an attempt by Minnesota-based 3M Corporation to invalidate PFAS in drinking water standards adopted by Michigan last year.
3M earlier this week served a lawsuit on EGLE seeking to invalidate Michigan s standards that set limits for PFAS compounds in drinking water. As one of the major manufacturers of PFAS in the country, 3M profited from the sale of many products containing PFAS while hiding the chemical s human health effects from the public. Letter Urging Congress to Pass the Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act of 2021
On May 6, Nessel joined a coalition of 21 attorneys general in urging Congress to pass the Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act of 2021. The legislation is aimed at combatting the high Black maternal mortality rate and increasing access to maternal and perinatal care.
The coalition is highlighting the need to advance health equity across the country for all racial and ethnic minorities - especially Black mothers. LANSING - Bond has been revoked pending a bond hearing for the self-proclaimed leader of The Base - a national white supremacist group with violent inclinations - after the Court agreed with the Department s findings that the defendant was not adhering to bond conditions, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced today.

Former U.P. attorney convicted of stalking pleads guilty to perjury

LANSING, MI – A former attorney who lost his license due to a criminal conviction has pleaded guilty to additional charges, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced Thursday.
Charles Malette, 40, of Chippewa County had his license revoked following a trial conviction for aggravated stalking last year. On Tuesday, he pleaded guilty to one count of perjury, a 15-year felony, as well as one count of felony false pretenses, a five-year felony.
As part of the plea agreement, three embezzlement charges were dropped, though Malette agreed to pay over $50,000 in restitution related to those allegations.

Letitia James has moved to take legal action against two notorious conspiracists who used threatening robocalls to target and suppress Black voters.
According to a press release provided to
theGrio, approximately 5,500 New Yorkers were subjected to discriminatory and harassing robocalls ahead of the 2020 election. James filed a request to intervene in a federal court proceeding against two conspiracy theorists over their voter suppression efforts.
An investigation conducted by the Office of the Attorney General found that
