SOM Former St. Joseph County Prosecutor Pleads Guilty to Driving While Visibly Impaired  Former St. Joseph County Prosecutor Pleads Guilty to Driving While Visibly Impaired Contact: Ryan Jarvi 517-599-2746Agency: Attorney General January 29, 2021 LANSING – Following an incident last year in Lockport Township, former St. Joseph County Prosecutor John McDonough has pleaded guilty to driving while visibly impaired and was sentenced to one year probation.  McDonough appeared Thursday before Judge Vincent Westra in Kalamazoo County 8th District Court. McDonough was previously charged by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel’s office with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and having open intoxicants inside a motor vehicle. Those charges have been dropped due to McDonough’s plea.

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) said today that it approved applications to discharge wastewater into the lakes and perform construction work in protected wetlands, which are among the authorizations Enbridge needs to build its proposed $500 million utility tunnel next to the Mackinac Bridge. The permits are not the final word on the tunnel project, which still needs to clear similar federal approvals and must yet get through a lengthy review by the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC).
