MIDDLETOWN Middlesex Health’s Hospice Program is looking for volunteers to work in home care and nursing home settings throughout Middlesex County.
Volunteers are a valued and integral part of the Hospice Program. They work with patients and their families as they cope with the challenges that come with having a terminal illness.
Hospice volunteers have direct patient contact, help with tasks that relate to bereavement and provide administrative support. Volunteers who are military veterans connect with patients who are also veterans as part of the We Honor Veterans program.

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. Police responded to Quail Run Village on Cynthia Lane Thursday morning from Mobile Crisis officials asking for police presence.
Mobile Crisis officials said they were attempting to evaluate two males who have a history of aggression.
Police said about an hour later the other condo residents were evacuated after the men threatened to burn down the condo. SWAT and Crisis Negotiators responded to the scene.
Neighbors told FOX61 this is not the first time this type of incident has happened at the apartment complex.

No injuries were reported and the situation was resolved peacefully after emergency crews were called in to negotiate with two men who barricaded themselves inside a condominium and threatened to burn down the building in Middletown Thursday, according to police.
According to police, officers first responded to Cynthia Lane just before noon when Mobile Crisis personnel called to report difficulties evaluating two males with a history of aggression. Mobile crisis units are designed to respond to and assess potential mental health emergencies and are staffed by mental health workers.
