Almost all of the recent COVID-19 cases are among people who are unvaccinated, Middlesex-London Health Unit medical officer of health Chris Mackie said Monday. Close contact with confirmed cases and indoor gatherings have been the big drivers of recent spread, he said.

“Essentially we have a fourth wave of COVID right now that is moving through our unvaccinated population. . . . The rate of COVID-19 in people who are unvaccinated, which is a small subset of our population, is actually quite high,” Mackie said.
