MIDDLETON (WKOW) Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District board voted on Monday evening on a plan to move forward with a phased 2-1-2 reopening plan for in-person instruction.
The board voted to begin the reopening plan with the elementary grades. That includes 4K-4th grade. Students in those grades, except for 4K will be split into two groups. Group 1 will have in-person instruction on Monday, Tuesday, with virtual instruction for the remainder of the week. Group 2 will have in-person instruction on Thursday, Friday, with virtual instruction for the remaining three days of the school week. Under the plan, 4K will work under a half day model, split into A.M. and P.M. groups.
Middleton, Verona parents plan Monday protests in favor of in-person learning

MIDDLETON, Wis. Parents at Verona High School and in the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District are planning separate protests Monday in favor of returning to in-person learning next semester.
A peaceful protest to reopen schools for in-person learning has been scheduled by the Bring Kids Back Verona Area Schools Facebook page. Organizers said they plan to protest Monday night at the district’s next board meeting.
A rally is also scheduled to start at Middleton High School on Monday at 1 p.m. as students, parents and community members are planning to walk to the MCPASD administration building on Park Lawn Place. Organizers told News 3 Now there will be no gathering or speeches scheduled for safety concerns, and face coverings and social distancing will be required.
