Subscriber only THE Ipswich City Bulls will continue their vital football development role after losing their premiership-winning women s senior side this season. After building a quality combination that won last year s Brisbane Women s Premier League (BWPL) grand final, Bulls officials had to withdraw their top team from the 2021 competition. Bulls club president Todd Zeidler said it was unfortunate to break up a formidable team after such a fantastic season. However, key Bulls representatives were offered higher level opportunities with teams in National Premier Leagues Women s (NPLW) competitions. We didn t get the NPL spot and we lost 14 players and two coaches, Zeidler said.
Industry leader recognised in Australia Day Awards
January 27th, 2021
Australian Grape & Wine chairman, Mr Sandy Clark, yesterday received an Australia Day award of the Officer of the Order in the General Division (AO), for his distinguished service to the wine industry through leadership roles, to finance and business, to the arts, and to charitable initiatives.
Mr Clark, former chairman of Brown Brothers Group and Mitchelton Wines, was appointed as the Winemakers’ Federation of Australia (WFA) president on 15 November 2016, and was a driving force behind the amalgamation of WFA and Australian Vignerons, giving the industry one united voice at the Federal level.
Advertisement With less than one month until Omloop Het Nieuwsblad – fingers crossed – and professional bike racing just days away from resuming, it is about time we reminded ourselves of the bikes set to be used during the 2021 season.
The annual merry-go-round of bike sponsorship was in full swing over the winter months. Jumbo-Visma swapped Bianchi bikes for Cervelo with Team BikeExchange (formerly Mitchelton-Scott) exchanging bikes with a swap to Bianchi from Scott.
Then to complete the perfect circle, Scott bikes were picked up by Team DSM (formerly Team Sunweb) after parting ways with Cervelo. One word: synergy.
For the first time since the mid-1990s, Giant will be absent from cycling s highest echelons while BMC joins Specialized as the only manufacturer with two teams in the men s WorldTour.

Subscriber only HAVING lost captain Jack Cabassi for the fast approaching season, Ipswich Knights head coach Andrew Ogden already has a new way to inspire his team. Ogden plans to build a leadership group for the 2021 Football Queensland Premier League (FQPL) season kicking off on March 13. With a mix of loyal Ipswich players and some quality recruits to choose from, Ogden is excited about creating more opportunities. Jack has been really good for us and that but we ll fill that void, Ogden said. I had a good chat to Jack and he basically thought he was getting on in his football career and Rochedale probably has a realistically better chance of getting to the NPL (National Premier Leagues competition) than we do.
