ODESSA Medical Center Hospital and Odessa Regional Medical Center received their first shipments of the Moderna coronavirus vaccine and began administering those doses to employees Monday.
MCH received 2,100 doses and officials are expecting an additional 400 doses to arrive later this week, according to a hospital spokesman. A press release from ORMC stated they received all 400 of their requested doses on Monday.

An 18-year-old Midlander has been charged with murder after he allegedly shot and killed a man during a drug deal at a DK convenience store Monday night.
Payne Stewart Reyes allegedly shot Santonio Griffin, 20, at least nine times in the parking lot of a Midland DK on West Scharbauer Drive following an argument, according to Reyes’ arrest affidavit. The affidavit states the argument occurred while Griffin was purchasing marijuana from Reyes.

An 18-year-old man is being held on a murder charge in connection with a shooting death that occurred Monday night, according to a press release from the city’s spokeswoman.
Payne Stewart Reyes was pulled over for a traffic stop at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of Douglas Avenue. The Midland Police Department K-9 officer found Reyes to be in possession of narcotics and a firearm, according to the release. He was transported to the Midland Police Department for questioning but refused to speak to detectives.

MIDLAND, Texas Nine months into the pandemic, and a vaccine for COVID-19 has finally made its way into Midland. Midland Memorial Hospital got its first shipment of Pfizer s COVID-19 vaccine, and the hospital immediately got to work.
Five doctors and nurses, specifically chosen by Midland Memorial, had the honor of being the very first recipients of the COVID-19 vaccine in Midland.
With skepticism surrounding the vaccine due to how quickly it was produced, faster than any other vaccine in history, Gerardo Catalasan, a doctor at Midland Memorial, wanted to set an example for his patients.
