President Biden Praises Gov. Walz Over COVID-19 Vaccine Numbers
May 11, 2021
THE WHITE HOUSE: President Joe Biden praising Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for the state’s success in getting COVID-19 vaccines into arms.
During a virtual roundtable on vaccines, President Biden told Walz, “I think you’re responsible, I know you are, for saving thousands of lives.”
More than 60% of Minnesotans 16 and older have the vaccine, one of the highest rates in the country.
Biden reached out to a number of governors seeking strategy ideas for how to increase vaccinations among holdouts as vaccinations slow down.
States are using different tactics including Minnesota.
Governor Walz s Office
(KNSI) – Minnesota Governor Tim Walz says the state is prepared to vaccinate children 12-to-15-years old against the coronavirus.
This comes after the FDA granted emergency use authorization for the Pfizer shot in that age range.
“This is an extraordinary development on our path back to normalcy we now have nearly 300,000 more Minnesotans eligible to roll up their sleeves and get life-saving protection from this deadly disease,” said Governor Walz. “We have been planning and preparing for this moment and are ready to begin vaccinating teens 12 and older. Start making your plan, Minnesota let’s get our kids their shot as soon as possible so they are fully vaccinated and protected in time for a fun, safe summer.”
On May 7th, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced a plan to rollback COVID-19 restrictions, and here s what that means for Minnesota Twins fans like myself.
I ve pretty much gone to at least one Twins game just about every year of my life. My parents use to bring me to the Metrodome when I was a little guy, and I have continued the tradition with my boy too. We love Target Field and 2020 sure ruined our annual family trip to Minneapolis to watch a Twins game.
With vaccines rolling out and numbers declining across Minnesota and the rest of the country, the Twins started off the season with a very limited number of fans. Tickets were hard to come by and expensive. Well, some good news, things should be improving in a big way.
