A psychologist who worked for more than six years at a state-operated treatment center for sex offenders in northern Minnesota has been charged with sexually assaulting two men while they were in custody at the facility.
The psychologist, Michelle D. Brownfield, 38, of Duluth, was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct involving the men, who were undergoing treatment for sexual offenses. A warrant covering Minnesota and its border states has been issued for her arrest.

A psychologist at the controversial Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) has been charged with sexually assaulting two clients she was treating.
The charges against Michelle Brownfield, 38, of Duluth, state she engaged in sexual intercourse and other sexual activities with the two men who were being treated at the MSOP Moose Lake facility in northern Minnesota between 2016 and 2018.
She has been charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, with a warrant issued for her arrest.
According to the criminal complaint, one of Brownfield s clients reported he had sex with her in rooms where she would perform psychological assessments, while the other client said they had sex with Brownfield in the facility s polygraph room.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KEYC) â The Minnesota House Capital Investment Committee learned more Tuesday about the proposed $17.8 million contained in Gov. Tim Walzâs bonding request for the Minnesota Sex Offender Program in St. Peter.
The funding would renovate two buildings on the programâs campus, adding 30 beds to Community Preparation Services, as well as provide more programming and administrative space.
Clients transferred to CPS continue treatment in a less restrictive setting that prepares them to integrate back into the community.
