Authorities responding to fire report find human remains in burnt car The discovery was made by responders in Goodhue County. Author: Police and fire officials responding to a structure fire in Goodhue County found human remains in a burnt car. A 911 call of a structure fire sent responders to the 45000 block of Highway 56 Boulevard in Holden Township, north of Kenyon, just after 6 p.m. New Year s Eve. When they arrived, firefighters found the remains in a burnt vehicle parked outside a home. The Goodhue County Sheriff s Office say the homeowners and local residents have been accounted for, with work underway to identify the deceased.

Kenyon Home Destroyed by Fire Mysterious Death Involved The home of Jerry and Barb Peterson of Kenyon was lost to a New Year s Eve fire that claimed the life of an unidentified person in a vehicle parked outside the home. The call came in at 6:14 p.m. on December 31, 2020 and was initially phoned in as a fire at the Kenyon Country Club.  The Peterson home is located in the 45000 block of Highway 56 Blvd in Holden Township. The Goodhue County Sheriff s Department news release does not identify the homeowners.  I checked with some sources in Kenyon to get that information.  Thankfully the Petersons were in Arizona.

Crews were called to the 700 block of Jefferson Avenue around 7:52 am and arrived to find smoke coming from the second floor of a two-story structure. Firefighters entered and found flames in a 2nd floor bedroom. The fire was extinguished and no one was injured in this incident. The cause of the fire is undetermined and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office was called in to help investigate.
