A man accused of murdering a Chisholm woman three decades ago could still be released from jail, with intense supervision, as the defense team awaits crucial DNA evidence to review.
The defense for Michael Allan Carbo, Jr., 52, filed a motion last month asking the court for his release after several delays from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and Parabon NanoLabs in providing evidence for review by his attorney. Sixth Judicial District Judge Mark M. Starr was critical of the delays during a Jan. 29 hearing, and ordered the discovery submitted or an affidavit from the agency and company explaining the delay.

The survivors Sheyla Scholl, Bonnie Daniels and Sara Kostek all spoke in support of a bill that would put the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension in charge of investigating sexual assaults by one guard member against another.

A 22-year-old Jordan man is accused of possessing and sharing child pornography.
Juan Luis Rosales is charged in Scott County District Court with 14 felony counts, including possessing and disseminating child pornography involving children under the age of 13.
According to the criminal complaint filed last week, on Jan. 11, law enforcement got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that Kik, a chatting app, provided information about numerous uploads of apparent child porn in chat and group share messages.
