WORTHINGTON When Nobles County was awarded nearly $847,000 in 2018 to renovate the former KidsPeace Prairie Academy at the Prairie Justice Center into an eight-bed short-term crisis residential facility, it had hoped the work could be done immediately to serve an area very much in need of mental health crisis services.
More than two years later and after two requests for proposals that saw no response from potential facility operators there has yet to be progress.
During a Thursday morning Nobles County Board of Commissioners work session, Community Services Administrator Stacie Golombiecki said her department is interested in contracting with a consultant or project manager to advance the effort. Workshop development scholarships available locally
WORTHINGTON Minnesota West Community & Technical College will be awarding 50 scholarships of $2,500 each for the fall 2021 term.
These scholarships are targeted for Minnesota residents who are majoring in high-demand occupations in the areas of advanced manufacturing, agriculture, health care services, information technology programs, transportation and early childhood. The Workforce Development Scholarship application deadline is April 1.

When we think of those involved in our health care treatment we think of doctors, nurses, lab techs and front desk staff. We also think about the people that send out the dreaded billing statements. Those “people” are health information management professionals, and their roles go well beyond the revenue and insurance process to working in data management, information technology, education, HIPAA, privacy and security laws. Even now, their future roles are adapting to the advancements in health care that are happening today.
