Minnesota Twins Hoping to Have 10,000 Fans at Home Opener
If the Minnesota Twins have their way, about 10,000 fans will be able to attend the home opener on April 8th.
The Minneapolis Star Tribune is reporting that the Minnesota Twins are in the process of seeking Governor Tim Walz s approval to allow 10,000 fans to attend the home opener against the Seattle Mariners.
10,000 fans would be equal to about 25% capacity of Target Field. The Twins would structure seating like we ve seen in other venues allowing fans. Protection measures would include pod seating and all spectators being required to wear a mask while at the event.

Washington Post reporters were named the winners of four George Polk Awards on Wednesday, including one for a series about the life of George Floyd, the Minnesota man whose death while in police custody sparked months of protests last year.
The Post s reporting about politics, the pandemic and racial tensions at the Virginia Military Institute were also recognized by jurors in the annual competition, which is among the most prestigious in journalism and is considered a reliable forecaster of the Pulitzer Prizes.

Journalism on the coronavirus pandemic dominated the George Polk Awards, with nearly half the prizes in recognition of work by print, digital and television reporters who sounded warnings early in the year and later tracked the devastating effects on large swaths of society and those who suffered personally as the death count rose.
