2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS Teases Its Rear In MBUX Hyperscreen Showcase ++ The Tesla-fighting sedan is getting closer to launch.
Mercedes-Benz is currently touting its cutting-edge MBUX Hyperscreen infotainment system during this year s virtual Consumer Electronics Show, and the company s video showcase for the tech includes a glimpse at the tail of the upcoming EQS EV. A full debut of the luxury sedan shouldn t be too far away.
The single view of the EQS highlights its rear. While the body is mostly in shadow, it s possible to see the taillights with a strip that spans the width of the tail. A sleek roofline gives the sedan a smooth silhouette.

The supplied battery cells in the EQS will be produced using 100 per cent renewable energy
Mercedes has teased the EQS electric sedan and this will be the second car under the EQ brand which will soon make its global debut. The new Electric Vehicle Architecture (EVA), which will celebrate its premiere with the EQS luxury sedan next year, will not only provide the technical basis for four other all-electric models, but will also incorporate technical milestones from Mercedes-EQ.
Mercedes has a bold plan to save the planet.
A new chapter for Mercedes-Benz is about to begin. As we know, Mercedes is attempting to become a leading electric car manufacturer, launching as many as six new EQ models by 2022 including the EQS Sedan, EQA SUV, and EQB crossover, which would bring the total number of EVs to eight. As part of its new EQXX technology program, Mercedes also has a bold plan to become carbon neutral by 2039 beyond simply expanding its EQ lineup. Specialists from the British Mercedes-Benz F1 HPP Group will help make Mercedes vision a reality.
While the EQC shares the same platform as the combustion-powered GLC, future EQ models will be underpinned by the company s new Electric Vehicle Architecture, which will debut with the EQS luxury sedan next year. This new platform will allow for a slew of technical innovations, including an optional interior air filtering system for the EQS that uses parts of the space freed up by the absence of a combustion engine.
Mercedes Teases EQS EV With Interior Air Quality Like An Operating Room ++ The company says the infotainment software has revolutionary AI.
In its latest teaser for the Mercedes-Benz EQS luxury EV, the German brand outlines a confident plan for the model to be a successful consumer product while also being friendly to the environment, at least by the standards of an automobile. The full debut for the EQS happens next year, but the automaker seems very proud about what it s launching.
One of the weirder features that Mercedes promises for the EQS to have optional HEPA filtration that creates the air quality of an operating room. The company says that freeing up the space formerly for a combustion engine allows for hitting this tech. It s apparently the first system in the automotive sector to have DIN EN 1822 certification.
Following in the footsteps of the Vision EQS concept, the production model features a fully enclosed grille with a prominent star emblem. It’s flanked by sweptback headlights with LED daytime running lights that spill into the grille and give the model an ‘electric unibrow.’
Elsewhere, we can see a sculpted hood and traditional side mirrors. The production model also has a revised front bumper and more pronounced fenders.

While Mercedes is keeping specifications under wraps, the company confirmed the EQS will be offered with an optional air filtering system which uses a highly-efficient particulate filter that is located where the engine would normally reside. It has a volume of approximately ten liters and provides the “highest of air quality in the interior.”
