ERC sets new deadline for bid winners published : 16 Mar 2021 at 04:00 The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has set next Monday as the deadline for 14 winners in the auction of the 2017 Small Power Producer Hybrid Firm, a renewable power scheme, following failure to sign power purchase agreements (PPAs) with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat). The bidding, which was carried out in December 2017, saw a total of 17 winners, but only three firms signed PPAs with Egat. Last year, ERC allowed for a further delay due to lockdown measures which restricted travel. ERC secretary-general Khomgrich Tantravanich said if they do not meet the deadline, they will be blacklisted, so unable to participate in future ERC projects.

New firms ratified under Egat, MEA published : 11 Mar 2021 at 04:00 2 The State Enterprise Policy Commission approved in principle establishing two subsidiary firms under the state-run Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat) and Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) to invest in future energy and energy-related R&D and innovations. According to Pantip Sripimol, director-general of the State Enterprise Policy Office (Sepo), Egat will form a joint venture with Electricity Generating Plc (Egco), an Egat subsidiary, and Ratch Group Plc to set up a new firm. The name has not been determined, and the new firm has registered capital of 2 billion baht that is 40% held by Egat, with 30% each held by Egco and Ratch Group.
