The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), yesterday, said that Electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) might replace faulty and obsolete metres for their customers.

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) on Friday, said that Electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) may replace faulty and obsolete meters for their customers.
The commission made this known in Order No. NERC/246/2021 signed by its Chairman , Mr Sanusi Garba and Mr Dafe Akpeneye, Commissioner Legal, Licensing and compliance on its website in Abuja.
NERC said that the Order No. NERC/246/2021 took effect from March 4.
“DisCos may replace faulty/obsolete meters under the National Mass Metering Programme (NMMP) but must be done in strict compliance with the Metering Code and other regulatory instruments of NERC, ‘’ it said.
Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has urged its unmetered customers to register for free prepaid meters under the ongoing National Mass Metering programme (NMMP).

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has commended Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State over his efforts in ensuring security, good governance, and infrastructural development in the State.
Bello’s Chief Press Secretary, Mohammed Onogwu, made the meeting public in a statement on Sunday evening, NAN reports.
Obasanjo commended Bello for his good works and urged him to sustain the efforts.
Onogwu said the parley between the governor and Obasanjo ended with fruitful discussion.
Commending the governor for his stride in fighting insecurity, Obasanjo stressed that Kogi State was central to Nigeria’s development.
Obasanjo stated that the fight against insecurity should have everybody on board, adding that governors should involve everyone to ensure insecurity is curtailed in Nigeria.
