India is gearing up for the vaccination process. Two COVID vaccines have been given emergency use authorisation by the Drug Regulator and the vaccines are likely to be rolled out by January 13 or 14.
After the first dry run for COVID-19 vaccination on January 2, the second dry run will take place tomorrow across 700+ districts in all states and union territories. Dry runs have already been conducted in all districts of Uttar Pradesh (Tuesday) and Haryana (Thursday). Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan held a meeting with Health Ministers of all states and UTs on Thursday to review preparedness. Dr Harsh Vardhan said that around 1.7 lakh volunteers and 3 lakh vaccination team members have been trained to administer vaccines and regulate the vaccination sites.

CoWIN (COVID-19 Vaccine Intelligence Network) is a repurposed version of eVIN (Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network).
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on January 6 warned people against downloading fake CoWIN (COVID Vaccine Intelligence Network) app from app stores. Some apps named #CoWIN apparently created by unscrupulous elements to sound similar to upcoming official platform of Government, are on App stores. DO NOT download or share personal information on these. #MoHFW Official platform will be adequately publicised on its launch, it said in a tweet.
