20 magistrates to ensure peaceful CCC polls 218 CHATTOGRAM, Jan 20, 2021 (BSS) – The Election Commission has engaged 20 judicial magistrates to ensure peaceful voting during the upcoming Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) polls. The magistrates will begin their election duties before two days of the election and continue after two more days of the election, said anotification signed by Afroza Shiuli, deputy secretary (Law) of Election Commission. A total of 236 candidates including seven mayoral candidates are contesting in the CCC elections to be held on January 27. Voting will be held by Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) at 735 polling stations. A total of 19 lakh 38 thousand 706 city dwellers voters will exercise their franchise in the election.
