The ministry’s permanent secretary, Dr. Thet Khaing Win, has been named minister after the National League for Democracy’s (NLD) appointee, Dr. Myint Htwe, resigned after Monday’s coup. The departing minister asked his staff to serve the people, especially during the COVID-19 crisis and vaccination rollout.
