Thief steals cash register from Greek restaurant in Miami
MIAMI – Miami police are searching for a thief who was captured on surveillance video overnight breaking into a Greek restaurant.
The incident occurred at Spyro’s of Athens, which is located at 100 S. Biscayne Blvd.
The owner told Local 10 News that a man broke into the business and stole the cash register.
“I received a call around, like, 5 in the morning that somebody (broke) into my business,” Guery Villarroel said.
Surveillance video shows the thief jumping over the counter, knocking an iPad off of it and then pulling at the wires holding the cash register down.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported the victim to Jackson Memorial Hospital s Ryder Trauma Center not only was he in stable condition, but has been released from the hospital.
Miami Beach Police are searching for Rayner Javier Rosario Guerrero in connection with the incident. Rosario Guerrero is just over 6 feet tall and weighs about 165 pounds.
Rosario Guerrero is said to possibly be in possession of a black semi-automatic pistol and is being sought for attempted first degree murder, according to a flyer from police.

Man riding scooter killed in hit-and-run crash in Miami-Dade County
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that left a 20-year-old man dead Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred just before 5:30 a.m. in the area of Southwest 296th Street and Old Dixie Highway.
According to authorities, a red vehicle was heading north on Old Dixie Highway and struck the victim, who was riding a standing electric scooter and crossing Southwest 296th Street.
Police said the driver fled the area without stopping to render aid or calling 911.
Hialeah police search for driver of Nissan involved in fatal hit-and-run

HIALEAH, Fla. – Hialeah police confirmed Wednesday that they are searching for the driver of a black Nissan Altima who they said fatally struck a motorcyclist last month and then fled the scene.
The hit-and-run crash occurred just before 6:45 a.m. May 11 on Okeechobee Road and West Fifth Street.
According to Hialeah police spokeswoman Adriana Quintana, a motorcycle was heading north on Okeechobee Road when it collided with a pickup truck that was making a left turn onto Fifth Street.

Man shot in face in Miami Beach
MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Miami Beach police are investigating after a man was shot in the face early Wednesday morning.
The shooting was reported around 12:45 a.m. in the 6300 block of the beach, not far from the Casablanca on the Ocean hotel.
“There were two males and two females out on the beach in each other’s company when they observed a Hispanic, Black male subject wearing all black clothing to include a black hoodie. He was walking along the beach, made eye contact with the victim in this case and without any provocation, the subject fired one shot which struck the victim in the face,” Miami Beach police spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez said.
