Some elected Florida Democrats calling on Biden to visit Miami and address Cuba crisis
MIAMI, Fla. – Many of Miami’s Cuban-American groups often bicker with each other over how best to bring democracy to Cuba, but on Friday they spoke with one voice.
“We must stand united,” said Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, addressing a group that gathered at the Brigade 2506.
Cuban-Americans are united in their dedication to helping their beleaguered brothers and sisters on the island who are running low on food, water, electricity, vaccines and freedom.

TALLAHASSEE - Gov. Ron DeSantis told young members of Cuba’s military to “live in the history books” by overthrowing their nation’s communist leadership, as he pushed President Joe Biden to bring Wi-Fi access back to people protesting on the island nation.
DeSantis, appearing in Miami on Thursday, reiterated his request that the White House allow Florida to restore internet access to Cuba, amid widespread demonstrations over a deepening economic crisis.
When asked if he would support “intervention” from the U.S. government into Cuba, the Republican governor suggested it would be better for members of the Cuban military to take action.

The governor on Thursday reiterated his push for stable internet access for Cuba, saying itâs crucial for Cubans to be able to communicate to each other and the rest of the globe about what is happening on the ground.
