Three officials linked to several hospitality companies in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in the United States have been charged with several offences in relation to a scam which led to dozen of foreign workers, including Jamaicans, being lied to about their pay and work conditions.
Raja Younas, Syed Naqvi and Jessica Voight, who all work for tourism and hospitality-related companies in Myrtle Beach, are accused of lying to get non-immigrants to the US for work.
The trio have been charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud, money laundering and visa fraud, according to the US Attorney s Office for the District of South Carolina in a news release on Thursday.
