As COVID-19 cases in Erie County continue to increase, so does the number of local schools switching to remote-only learning as a result. Here s a look at which schools are closed for in-person instruction and which are open, based on information available Friday afternoon: • The Erie School District, the region s largest school district with 11,000 students, will continue remote learning for middle and high school students into early 2021. The district s elementary school students are also learning remotely, at least through the end of December. Elementary students could resume in-person classes, with hybrid instruction, once the number of COVID-19 cases in Erie County declines to levels the district administration and Erie School Board consider acceptable under state guidelines.
