Mar 17, 2021 Dunkirk Cynthia Ann Sysol, 67, lifelong resident of Dunkirk, passed away Sunday, March14 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital after a lengthy illness.She was born in Dunkirk on Jan. 22, 1954, to the late Harry (Sr.) and Sophie (Lewandowski)Sysol.Cynthia spent most of her life working in the food service industry including nearly 15 years with FSA at SUNY Fredonia. She often cooked and catered on the side as baking and serving washer way of expressing love and gratitude. Survivors include one sister, Mary Jane Sysol, of Wilmington, N.C., one brother, Harry(Theresa) Sysol, Jr. of Dunkirk, her three children, Jeffrey Storey, Joseph Storey, and Jill(Christopher) Krzyzanowicz all of Dunkirk, as well as ten grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Sysol, and a brother, Frank-Sysol, Sr.A private memorial service will be held later this spring for the immediate family.

Doctors Welcome New Government Stance on Ivermectin in Covid-19 Treatment In a move that frontline physicians across the country believe may bring about a turning point in the pandemic, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) last week revised its guidelines on ivermectin (IVM), making the anti-parasitic “wonder” drug an option for treatment of Covid-19. The federal agency’s shift from opposition to “neither-for-or-against” was widely applauded by frontline doctors battling Covid. Ivermectin is already approved by the FDA and is on the World Health Organization’s list of model list of essential medicines. But the federal agency had until now advised against its use for Covid-19 outside of a hospital setting or clinical trial. The agency’s website now informs viewers that the NIH is neutral on the subject.
