Millikin University launches New Music Business Degree Program

The Millikin University School of Music has announced new undergraduate degree offerings for a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Business with a planned offering in fall 2021. Students are automatically admitted into the program upon admittance to the University; an audition is not required for admission. Millikin’s Music Business degree program will prepare students to facilitate and serve users, consumers, and artists through symbiotic relationships within the music industry. This program of study encompasses training in music fundamentals, alongside music business and traditional business coursework, designed to provide the creative practitioner the tools for a career in today’s music industry.

MCHD and Millikin University to Host On-Campus Vaccination Clinic May 4 Millikin University will host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic, sponsored by the Macon County Health Department and the Millikin School of Nursing, on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The clinic will be held in the Oberhelman Center for Leadership Performance in the 1st floor lobby area of the University Commons on Millikin’s campus. Millikin University students, faculty and staff can receive first dose Moderna vaccinations from 9 a.m. – 12 noon, and Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) single-dose vaccinations from 1 – 3:30 p.m. For those who choose the Moderna vaccination, they will have the opportunity to schedule their second dose at the clinic.

Arana Shapiro Arana Shapiro joined Games for Change in 2019 as the Managing Director and Chief Learning Officer where she oversees the day-to-day operations of the organization as well as providing strategic and programmatic support on all learning initiatives.  Arana is the former Executive Director of Institute of Play, a NYC-based nonprofit organization that focused on transforming education through games and play.  At IOP Arana led the Institute’s strategy, growth, development, and operations.  She also oversaw the Institute’s major initiatives in relation to school design, leadership, and school-based partnerships. She has over twenty years of experience in education and nonprofit management, as a teacher, educational technologist, curriculum developer, and organizational leader.
