MCSO deputies respond to 134 traffic-related calls during winter storm By FOX6 News Digital Team Published  Snow removal keeps Milwaukee residents busy Heavy snowfall Monday night, Jan. 25 into Tuesday meant a busy day for many as parts of Milwaukee County saw more than eight inches. MILWAUKEE - As winter weather made its way across southeastern Wisconsin on Monday evening, Jan. 25 into Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 26, the Milwaukee County Sheriff s Office responded to more than 134 vehicle-related incidents. Fifty-three property damage crashes, seven crashes with injuries, 71 disabled vehicles, and three abandoned vehicles required a sheriff s deputy response between 10 p.m. Monday night and 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

MPS day programs, 50 Stop, Grab & Go locations, school buildings closed By FOX6 News Digital Team Published  MILWAUKEE - Due to snowstorm, All MPS day programs, 50 Stop, Grab & Go locations, and school buildings are closed Tuesday, Jan. 26. All virtual learning will continue and Milwaukee Public Schools district offices will remain open.  According to the National Weather Service, moderate to heavy snow is expected this morning along with gusty northeast winds resulting in widespread blowing and drifting of snow. 

Winter storm: Up to 10 inches of snow expected in Milwaukee area

Only Racine and Kenosha counties remained under a winter storm warning as of 3 p.m.  The snow was part of a large winter storm that blanketed large parts of the nation s midsection in snow and spawned severe storms in the South, including a deadly tornado in Alabama. In southern Wisconsin, a narrow band of heavy snow developed during the storm Tuesday morning and extended through Dane, Dodge, Washington, and Sheboygan counties, the National Weather Service said. The snow totals were fairly impressive.  Horicon in Dodge County reported 9.4 inches of snow, according to the weather service. Grafton in Ozaukee County reported 7 inches.
