Rep. Kristina Shelton, D-Green Bay, tweeted that the proposals would bar anti-racism and anti-sexism programs in schools. It’s so telling. Taking racism and sexism so personally that folks are willing to keep it alive and well for their own comfort and power rather than dismantle it for the good of all, said Shelton, a former Green Bay School Board member.
The concepts that would be prohibited from being taught mirror language from a now-reversed executive order from former President Donald Trump that banned anti-racism training to federal contractors.
They include that an individual, by virtue of the individual s race or sex, bears responsibility for acts committed in the past by other individuals of the same race or sex.
Wisconsin U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson said he's still undecided about whether or not he'll seek a third term in 2022 during a Milwaukee Press Club Newsmakers Luncheon on Thursday.
“He is brave, he is bold, he loves our Country, our Military, and our Vets. He will protect our Second Amendment, and everything else we stand for. It is the kind of courage we need in the U.S. Senate. He has no idea how popular he is,” Trump said in April. “Run, Ron, Run!”
Johnson has been a big supporter of the former president and continues to push Trump’s America First agenda. The America First agenda is embraced by an awful lot of Americans, Johnson said Thursday.
Johnson said he won t do anything to risk a Democrat taking his seat, but has not said when he will announce his decision, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
