Webinar on RDA held

ISLAMABAD: The Embassy of Pakistan, Tokyo in collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and Meezan Bank Limited, organised a webinar on Roshan Digital Account (RDA) Shariah-compliant investment and financing opportunities on Monday, a statement said.
The webinar was addressed by Ambassador of Pakistan to Japan, Imtiaz Ahmad, Meezan Bank Founding President and CEO Irfan Siddiqui, and SBP Managing Director Syed Irfan Ali. Ahmad termed RDA an innovative initiative of the government, which has facilitated Pakistani diaspora in sending money to their loved ones in Pakistan, and eased digital payment system by providing full range of banking services.

KSE-100 index jumps 135 points despite Year-end sale by Insurance companies

Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a topsy-turvy trading session on Tuesday,as heavy selling pressure by Insurance Companies shadowed budget-approval optimism at the market.
On Tuesday, the index began the session on a positive note right after the opening bell and crossed the 47,500-point mark briefly after gaining over 500 points. However, failing to sustain the momentum, the index reversed its trajectory and pared earlier gains to touch intra-day low of 46,986.47 level.
The Index traded in a range of 522.35 points or 1.11 percent of previous close before settling at 47,137.77 level, posting at 135 points gain.

Jazz has secured a PKR 50 billion syndicated credit facility from a banking consortium led by HBL. This 10-year facility will be used to finance the company’s ongoing 4G network rollouts and technology upgradation.
This is the first of its kind facility extended to the Telecom sector in terms of the amount and tenor, said a press release issued here on Thursday.
The facility is fully subscribed by HBL, the consortium’s investment agent and mandated lead arranger. Other Banks who are also acting as the mandated lead arrangers and advisors on this deal include, United Bank Limited, National Bank of Pakistan, MCB Bank, Bank Alfalah, Allied Bank Limited, Askari Bank Limited, Bank of Punjab, Meezan Bank Limited and Faysal Bank Limited.
