The theme of the 2021 PBD was Contributing to Aatmanirbhar Bharat . The PBD Convention is the flagship event of the Government of India and provides an important platform to engage and connect with the vibrant overseas Indian diaspora and celebrate their achievements and contributions. The Indian Diaspora across the world including from Malaysia enthusiastically participated in the celebration. In view of the ongoing pandemic, the event was virtually attended by select representatives of the Indian diaspora in Malaysia in compliance with the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) and prevailing SOP in Malaysia.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob  (pic) said the two localities in Johor involved Johor Bahru Correctional Centre and Staff Quarters, Batu 19 Jalan Ulu Choh-Pontian, Johor Bahru; as well as the Dewan Arena Segitiga, Taman Desa Sejahtera, Mukim Kota Tinggi, Johor and at the Jelebu Prison and Jelebu Prison Staff Quarters in Negeri Sembilan.

13 compounded for defying Covid-19 SOPs in Labuan

LABUAN: Thirteen people were detained by police for defying standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) at food premises here last night. Acting Labuan police chief DSP Mohd Ibrahim Mohd Ghani said all of them, aged between 28 and 48 years, were compounded RM1,000 each, under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the local Infected Areas) Regulations 2020. The offenders will be prosecuted in court if they fail to settle the compound fine. Offences include failing to comply with physical distancing (11) and the others, for failure to register with the My Sejahtera app for Covid-19 contact tracing upon entering food premises.
